Purdue-Northwestern 2018 football opener moved to August 30

The Big Ten has moved the 2018 Purdue-Northwestern game to a new date. It is one of five 2018 games the Big Ten has moved.

Originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 1, Purdue and Northwestern will now meet on Thursday, Aug. 30. The game will be played at Ross-Ade Stadium, with a time to be announced later.

As noted by an official release from Purdue, it will mark the first time the Boilermakers will start a season on a Thursday since 1895. Purdue has played on Thursday nights 15 times in the program’s history, most recently the 2004 Capital One Bowl against Georgia that was played on New Year’s Day.
