Illinois won a series-best six games in a row from 1906 to 1911.

Both Purdue and Illinois have Week 9 games before the Boilermakers and Illini meet in Week 10.

Purdue and first-year head coach Jeff Brohm plays at home against Nebraska. The Boilermakers are 3-4 going into the game, as they lost to Rutgers this last week.

Illinois gets visiting undefeated Wisconsin for Week 9. The Illini are 2-5 this season.
