Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield is heavily considered college football’s top quarterback. Play-action passes are where he’s having the most success.
Per Pro Football Focus, Mayfield and Central Florida’s McKenzie Milton are the only FBS quarterbacks with more than 10 touchdowns without an interception on play-action passes. Both have 11.

Of course, Mayfield is performing even when it’s not play action. Overall, he has 15 touchdowns with no interceptions. No other quarterback has at least 11 scoring passes without a pick.
Mayfield’s 214.1 passes rating is the best in the FBS.
Even after a loss to Iowa State on Saturday, Mayfield is still clearly in the Heisman Trophy picture. The Sooners also have a clear shot at the Big 12 title and the College Football Playoff.
Mayfield and Oklahoma continue their pursuit of a third straight Big 12 championship Saturday against Texas in the Red River rivalry.
