Paul Finebaum has announced he’ll be giving out a new award. It seems perfectly designed to troll Michigan.
Finebaum has repeatedly mocked Harbaugh and Michigan, even calling the fans a “ whiny and sniveling bunch.” Now Finebaum says that on Tuesday he will debut a new award: Pete Finebaum Award.
“The trophy will be awarded annually to the best 4th place power 5 division finisher,” Finebaum tweeted.
Here are Finebaum’s nominees:
- Mississippi State
- Boston College

Michigan went 8-4 in the regular season and finished fourth in the Big Ten East at 5-4 in the Big Ten. The Wolverines finished behind Ohio State (8-1), Penn State (7-2) and Michigan State (7-2).
The Wolverines are 28-10 in Harbaugh’s three seasons as coach. Harbaugh led Michigan to 10-win seasons in his first two years, finishing in the Top 15 twice. Michigan came in third place in the division in both 2015 and 2016, though it went a combined 13-4 in Big Ten play.
Earlier this season, Finebaum mocked Harbaugh and the Wolverines going into their game against Rutgers. At the time of the October 28 game, the winner was playing for fourth place. Michigan ended up routing Rutgers, 35-14.
“In the last 11 games, Jim Harbaugh is 6-5,” Finebaum said. “Jim Harbaugh makes $11 million a year. His team is playing Rutgers. They’re both tied right now for fourth in the Big Ten.”
