Pitt starting quarterback Max Browne will miss the rest of the season following a surgery he had on the shoulder he injured in the loss to Syracuse, according to coach Pat Narduzzi.

Browne went 15-of-22 for 161 yards before leaving the game vs. Syracuse in the third quarter due to the injury. Backup quarterback Ben DiNucci replaced Browne and went 6-of-10 for 55 yards.
The senior Browne, a graduate transfer from Southern Cal, posted 997 passing yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions this season.
Pitt hosts N.C. State on Oct. 14 at 12 p.m.
