Orlando Brown responds to shade from Texas QB Sam Ehlinger

Former Oklahoma tackle Orlando Brown became the story of the NFL Scouting Combine for all the wrong reasons two weeks ago.

Brown had a historically bad 40-yard dash time and bench-press session, which Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger used as trash-talk fodder on Monday.

It started when one of Ehlinger’s teammate thanked Texas strength and conditioning coach Yancy McKnight for helping him improve in the weight room.

Ehlinger, who fell short of a win in his Red River Showdown debut, decided to reply to the post and take an indirect jab at Brown for his mediocre 14 bench-press reps at the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine.

That’s a saucy jab for a quarterback, who’s 0-1 against the Sooners. It seems Brown finally has a response, however, for Ehlinger.

Brown said he’d be happy to do one-on-one blocking drills with Ehlinger anywhere he wants and added a “Texas sucks” for good measure.

While Ehlinger likely wouldn’t put up much of a fight against the 6-foot-8 tackle, Brown at least owned up to his suboptimal combine performance.

Brown improved his bench-press reps and 40-yard dash time at Oklahoma’s pro day on Wednesday. Ehlinger will have to wait a little longer to improve his Red River Showdown record.

Oklahoma and Texas will meet on Oct. 6 in Dallas.
