Oregon State-Colorado football: TV channel, time, live stream, odds (October 14, 2017)

The Oregon State Beavers will play their first game after the school and head coach Gary Anderson parted ways on Saturday, October 14 when the Colorado Buffaloes come to Corvallis.

The Beavers have started the year 1-5 and 0-3 in Pac-12 play, with their only win being a 35-32 escape over FCS Portland State. It led to Andersen and the school mutually deciding that he would no longer coach the team, including the unusual step of Andersen agreeing to waive the remainder of his contract.

After starting the year 3-0, the Buffaloes have had a rough start to conference play, losing all three games to Pac-12 opponents. The Buffaloes allowed 413 rushing yards in last week’s 48-45 loss to Arizona, including 327 yards on 14 carries from Wildcats quarterback Khalil Tate.

Find better home results

In their five games against FBS opponents, the Beavers has gone 0-5 and have lost each game by at least 28 points. But it’s been especially bad at home, where the Beavers have been outscored 90-21 in two games against FBS opponents. With Colorado struggling as they come to Corvallis, Oregon State should hope to be more competitive against the Buffaloes.

Get a spark on the ground

The Buffaloes were gashed by Arizona on the ground last week, but the Beavers haven’t been able to find consistent success on the ground, only gaining 773 yards rushing on the season. Oregon State has averaged 128.8 yards per game on the ground, which is 102nd out of 130 teams. But Colorado is as good of a team as any to try and get some traction on building a good running game.

Learn what Hall can do

Cory Hall had been the cornerbacks coach before being tabbed as the temporary replacement for Andersen, giving the Beavers a chance to see how the 40-year-old responds to being in charge. With six games left in the season, there’s plenty of time for Hall to try and keep the players motivated and tweak the coaching staff however he thinks would be beneficial for the team. Saturday will be the first taste of that.
