Oregon ranked second ‘most comfortable’ QB situation in Pac-12

A report from Jon Wilner of The Mercury News ranks the Oregon Ducks as the second “most comfortable” quarterback situation in the Pac-12.

From The Mercury News:

The Ducks could easily find themselves atop the QBCQ rankings by August for reasons I’ll get to in the Arizona comment. Figure on Burmeister improving significantly after being forced to play last fall as a true freshman. (Also figure on Oregon opting to redshirt touted rookie Tyler Shough.)  If he stays healthy,  Justin Herbert will be the top passer in the conference and  a potential Heisman contender.

Oregon returns its prized starter in Justin Herbert for 2018. Despite the Ducks’ primary signal-caller missing much of last year with a broken collarbone, Herbert still tossed for 1,983 yards and 15 touchdowns with five interceptions.

Backing up Herbert again this year will be Braxton Burmeister, who started last year as a freshman in place of Herbert.

Here’s the full list of Pac-12 quarterback comfort ratings from Wilner:

  1. Arizona
  2. Oregon
  3. Arizona State
  4. Washington
  5. Stanford
  6. Cal
  7. Utah
  8. UCLA
  9. Colorado
  10. USC
  11. Oregon State
  12. Washington State
