All proceeds from Saturday’s games will go toward the American Red Cross Oregon Wildfire Fund, which is helping families and business affected by wildfires in Oregon during the summer.
“The NCAA has given us a unique opportunity to give back to our state, and we are honored to be able to do that,” Oregon men’s coach Dan Altman said, via the school’s Web site. “We want to encourage those fans who are coming to Eugene for the football game to come early and watch basketball for a good cause.”
Both games at Matthew Knight Arena will feature four 10-minute quarters with a five-minute halftime, thus ensuring the doubleheader ends in time for fans to make it over to Autzen Stadium for Oregon’s 2:45 p.m. PT kickoff against Utah.
