Ole Miss QB Shea Patterson exits after hard hit on interception against LSU

Shea Patterson threw an interception during the second quarter of Ole Miss’ game against LSU on Saturday. And that wasn’t the only bad thing that happened on the play for the Rebels’ quarterback.

Patterson took a hard hit on the play as he let go of the ball. He then limped off the field and immediately went to the Ole Miss medical tent. When Patterson came out of the tent, he went straight to the locker room.

“Shea Patterson has been taken to the locker room with a right knee injury,” sideline reporter Holly Rowe said on the ESPN broadcast. “I can tell you that as he limped past me, he was very upset by whatever has occurred.”

Patterson was joined by several members of the Rebels’ staff during his time in the medical tent, according to SEC Country’s Alex Hickey:

While Patterson remained in the medical tent during LSU’s ensuing drive, Ole Miss backup quarterback Jordan Ta’amu started warming up on the Rebels’ sideline.

Prior to the injury, Patterson was 5-for-9 for 33 yards.
