Jalen Jordan has committed to Ole Miss.

On Monday, the 3-star defensive back made the announcement in a note on Twitter. The 5-foot-10, 168-pound member of the Class of 2019 made his decision known after making an unofficial visit to Oxford on Sunday. He received an offer from Ole Miss last Monday.

The native of Lake Cormorant, Miss., represents the Rebels’ eighth commitment from the state of Mississippi, per 247Sports.

It’s a positive development for Ole Miss coach Matt Luke to attract so many in-state recruits. A tough road could be ahead for the Rebels, after the recent NCAA sanctions placed on the school. But there’s still a chance for young players to make names for themselves in Oxford.

Ole Miss finished 6-6 last season.
