A pair of Big 12 games, both featuring Oklahoma, will have plenty of impact on the final four teams standing.
Bleacher Report’s Greg Wallace ranked the top 10 remaining games that will have the greatest affect on the College Football Playoff, and two Big 12 matchups made the cut. Bedlam, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State’s Nov. 4 showdown, came in at No. 6, while the Sooners’ contest against TCU ranked second.
This year’s Bedlam game in Stillwater, Okla., giving the Cowboys a small advantage. Wallace, though, made his pick based on the quarterback matchup, slightly favoring Baker Mayfield over Mason Rudolph. Regardless, the winners put themselves in the driver’s seat for a spot in the Big 12 title game, while the loser will assuredly miss out on the championship game and the College Football Playoff.
The following week, TCU travels to Norman, Okla., to face the Sooners. A victory could lock up a spot in the conference championship game for the Horned Frogs, while potentially guaranteeing them a place in the College Football Playoff should they win the Big 12. Wallace again picked the Sooners in this matchup in a “hard-fought victory,” positioning Oklahoma for a College Football Playoff spot.
All three teams have challenges ahead, with TCU and Oklahoma State still needing to a face a surprising Iowa State team on the road, but those two games clearly represent what the best of what the Big 12 has to offer the rest of the way.
