The Oklahoma State recruiting class for 2018 remains at 19 commitments, but that could soon change.

The Cowboys coaches spent the bye week busy in pursuit of recruits. Also, Oklahoma State’s homecoming game against Baylor provides the Cowboys an opportunity to showcase the campus at a great time.

Here’s a look at where things stand for the 2018 class:

Where Oklahoma State’s class ranks

Oklahoma State’s 2018 class is No. 30 nationally and No. 5 in the Big 12, according to 247Sports composite rankings. The class features three 4-star players and 16 3-stars.

Latest news

On Monday, the Cowboys offered a scholarship to 3-star linebacker prospect Braden Cassity as they try to plug some final holes in their defense. Oklahoma State was the first school to offer him since July, but the Cowboys quickly became his best offer.

5 top uncommitted targets

3-star OLB Braden Cassity, Westlake (Austin, Texas)

The Cowboys became Cassity’s ninth offer earlier this week, and they’re certainly his best. Cassity has also received offers from Army, Navy and Tulsa, among others. At 6-foot-2 and 240 pounds, Cassity could be a linebacker or defensive end, both of which are positions of need for Oklahoma State in this recruiting class. Cassity is the No. 208 player in Texas.

4-star DT Tayland Humphrey, Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College

Humphrey remains uncommitted, despite his top four choices being known for some time. Humphrey, the No. 5 junior college recruit in the country, is choosing among Oklahoma State, Florida International, Alabama and Louisville. His brother, John Bolding, considered the Cowboys but committed to Florida International; Humphrey had promised to play with Bolding. He took an official visit to Kansas last week.

3-star DT Israel Antwine, Millwood (Oklahoma City)

Antwine, the No. 15 recruit in Oklahoma, took an official visit to Colorado last week. He originally committed to Ole Miss, but he de-committed shortly after Hugh Freeze’s resignation. Georgia is also in hot pursuit, but the Cowboys have the close-to-home advantage. As Oklahoma State has more home games in coming weeks, Antwine is among the recruits whose commitment could be locked up with a visit.

3-star TE James Palmer, Westmoore (Oklahoma City)

Palmer, the state of Oklahoma’s No. 14 recruit, represents another Cowboys back option after Oklahoma State got a commitment from JUCO tight end Jake Ross. Should the Cowboys choose to pursue a four-year player for the position, Palmer would be a logical fit. Oklahoma State was the first Division I program to offer Palmer, who has dealt with injuries in the past.

3-star DE Azur Kamara, Arizona Western College (Yuma, Ariz.)

Before Baylor offered Kamara last week, the Cowboys were the most recent team to make him an offer, doing so Aug. 10. The country’s No. 36 junior college player has 16 other offers and has taken visits to Iowa State and Louisville.
