Cowboys end No. 19 Florida State’s undefeated basketball season

The Oklahoma State basketball team earned its first victory against a ranked team under coach Mike Boynton on Saturday, defeating No. 19 Florida State 71-70. The Cowboys ended the Seminoles’ undefeated season largely thanks to the play of senior Mitchell Solomon, who recorded his first career double-double and made the go-ahead tip-in before he sealed the game by drawing a charge on the other end.

The Cowboys host Tulsa on Tuesday. It’s their penultimate nonconference game before Big 12 play begins Dec. 29 against West Virginia at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

Cowboys adding commitments in advance of early signing period

The new early signing period is almost here, and coach Mike Gundy and his staff are working to take advantage of it. The Cowboys added a pair of commitments last weekend in defensive end Cutter Cleveland and cornerback Tanner McCalister.

Oklahoma State’s 2018 recruiting class is up to 23 players, around where Gundy expects it to be. The early signing period runs Wednesday through Friday.
