A fast-rising prospect with 15 offers to date, Clay’s list cut left the likes of Arkansas State, Houston, Iowa State,
Minnesota, SMU and Tulsa on the outside looking in.
Rated as a 3-star recruit and a former teammate of Oklahoma signee Ron Tatum, Clay totaled 56 tackles, 3 sacks and 2 pass
breakups in 2017. Although the Sooners weren’t listed, Clay did visit Oklahoma for Junior Day in February and if Lincoln
Riley’s staff does extend an offer, Oklahoma would quite likely jump firmly into the mix in his intensifying recruitment.
One of the more highly touted prospects in the state, the 6-foot-5, 229-pound Clay is ranked as the nation’s No.
368 player, No. 29 strong-side defensive end and the No. 4 player in Oklahoma, per the 247Sports Composite.
