Get insight and reaction to Ohio State football and basketball on the Inside the Shoe podcast, brought to you by Land of 10. In the latest edition, Kyle Lamb recaps Ohio State basketball’s 79-56 loss to Penn State on the road Thursday night. The Buckeyes were hoping to exact revenge for a 3-point loss at the buzzer in Columbus on Jan. 25. After making 11-of-14 3-pointers in the earlier meeting, Penn State fared only mildly worse, shooting 9 of 20 in a game that saw them go up by as many as 30 points in the second half.

Topics discussed Friday on Inside the Shoe include:

  • Ohio State’s 79-56 loss, getting behind 45-21 at the half and falling behind by as many as 30 early in the second half. The Buckeyes made a run to marrow the deficit to 16 but never could get closer down the stretch.
  • The importance of winning the last three games with Michigan State’s schedule easing up. Purdue dropped a road game against Wisconsin on Thursday but the Spartans might not lose again the rest of the regular season.
  • A preview of Ohio State’s road game with Michigan on Sunday. The Wolverines are having a “Maize Out” for the game, which already has sold out.

Next week on the podcast, Kyle will recap the game against Michigan. Austin Ward and Ryan Ginn will stop in for their weekly chats, and Ryan Donnelly will preview 2019 football recruiting.
