Ohio State-Nebraska, Week 7 betting odds

Ohio State is a huge favorite at Nebraska. MyBookie has the Buckeyes as a 24.5-point favorite at the Huskers. The over/under is at 58 points.

The No. 9 Buckeyes are rolling going into the game. After losing to Oklahoma, Ohio State has dominated Army, UNLV, Rutgers and Maryland. Ohio State is 5-1 overall and 3-0 in the Big Ten going into the Saturday game.

As for Nebraska, the Huskers are 3-3 overall and 2-1 in the Big Ten. Nebraska did beat Rutgers and Illinois to start conference play before losing 38-17 at home to Wisconsin last week. Like Ohio State, Wisconsin was a top-10 team visiting the Huskers.

Ohio State-Nebraska betting preview

Unless there’s a shocking upset like Iowa State-Oklahoma last week, don’t expect this game to be close. The Buckeyes have been dominant and look confident since that early season defeat to Oklahoma.

As for Nebraska, the Huskers have plenty to play for, and night games in Lincoln aren’t exactly for the weak at heart. However, just last week, Nebraska had a home night game against a top-10 foe — and got routed by 21 points. The game was close for a while before Wisconsin’s run game pushed around the Huskers.

Don’t be surprised if something similar happens Saturday. Nebraska might keep it close for a while, but the Buckeyes offense shouldn’t be stopped many times.

Ohio State has also won four of the five meetings in the series, though the first two games were Buckeyes wins in 1955 and 1956. Since Nebraska joined the Big Ten, the Buckeyes and Huskers have met three times since 2011.

In last year’s meeting, Ohio State made it look easy. Though Nebraska came in ranked No. 10, the No. 6 Buckeyes totaled 590 offensive yards and destroyed the Huskers 62-3. The Huskers had only 204 yards in the loss.

It’s going to be closer this time, but Ohio State should again cover the spread.
