Ohio State DT Michael Hill returns after 6-game suspension

Michael Hill will rejoin the Buckeyes this week after missing the first six games of the season for a violation of team rules. Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano confirmed the news Tuesday night.

“How much playing time? We’ll see,” Schiano told reporters. “That will all play out with however (defensive line coach Larry Johnson) plans to use him. But he’s an experienced guy who has played really good football for us over time.”

Urban Meyer announced before the season that Hill was suspended indefinitely.

Hill was a key piece of the Buckeyes defensive line in the 2016 season. He was an honorable mention All-Big Ten selection and recorded 19 tackles and three tackles for loss. It’s unclear how much playing time Hill will see this weekend when Ohio State faces Nebraska in Lincoln.

“Mike’s had a great attitude about it and now it’s done,” Schiano said of the suspension.
