It’s Penn State week
It’s all on the table for Ohio State this week, as the Buckeyes get ready to take on No. 2 Penn State.
The bye week came at the perfect time for Ohio State, which is hoping to validate its scorching run of blowouts with a signature victory against a big-time opponent. To add to the big-game atmosphere, ESPN’s College GameDay will originate from Columbus on Saturday.
Ohio State opens as big favorite
Penn State might have the higher ranking, but oddsmakers are betting on the Buckeyes. They opened as a 7-point favorite over Penn State on Sunday.
Ohio State has a loss and the Nittany Lions are undefeated, but the Buckeyes have been playing on a different level lately. Plus, the game is in Columbus where Urban Meyer has easily handled the Nittany Lions both times he has previously faced them.
Buckeyes stay No. 6 in polls
After having the weekend off, Ohio State kept its No. 6 ranking in the AP Top 25 released Sunday. The Buckeyes also stayed put at No. 6 in the Amway Coaches Poll.
The Buckeyes stayed put in Land of 10’s Big Ten Power Poll, released Sunday night, as well. That means No. 2 behind Penn State.
