Billy Price, Denzel Ward named first-team AP All-Americans

Ohio State’s Billy Price and Denzel Ward were selected to the first team of The Associated Press All-America team, which was released Monday. Price was selected as the first-team center, while Ward was one of two first-team cornerbacks. Ohio State defensive end Nick Bosa was a second-team pick.

The AP’s first team was highlighted by Heisman winner Baker Mayfield at quarterback, Stanford’s Bryce Love at running back and Penn State’s Saquon Barkley as the all-purpose back. A total of seven Big Ten players were first-team All-America picks. The full teams can be found here.

Ohio State’s All-American tracker

Patterson, a former 5-star recruit, is expected to become immediately eligible. It’s a move that could shake up the Big Ten race in 2018.

And it’s one that caught the attention of another player who could be a first-year starter in the Big Ten in 2018. Buckeyes quarterback Dwayne Haskins weighed in on Patterson’s transfer and said the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry “just got a little more interesting.”

Kierre Hawkins announces transfer

Ohio State tight end Kierre Hawkins announced he was transferring to Youngstown State on Monday night. Hawkins was a redshirt freshman in 2017 and did not record a catch at Ohio State.
