Only in a Northwestern-Iowa game would the biggest play be a monstrous punt.
After a sleepy first half that saw zero points from either team for the first 28 minutes, Northwestern punter Hunter Niswander woke up the crowd — and the internet — with an 80-yard punt.
Niswander’s boot sailed over the head of Iowa return man Josh Jackson, who could’ve caught the ball around Iowa’s 28-yard line. Instead, the punt rolled all the way down to the 2-yard line where it was easily downed by the Wildcats and dramatically changed the field.
An 80-yard punt is remarkable.
It's even more remarkable when it stops at the 2-yard line.

Naturally, the internet was a fan of an 80-yard punt.

It only makes sense for there to be an 80-yard punt in Iowa-Northwestern.

Niswander is a senior for the Wildcats, and his career long punt was 62 yards coming into the season. He smashed that record and made a lot of new fans on Saturday.
