NFL draft experts have had nothing but good things to say about former Notre Dame offensive lineman Quenton Nelson. It was more of the same on Monday.
NFL draft analyst Mike Mayock raved about the guard during an NFL Network conference call on Monday, saying he is one of the best interior offensive guards he’s seen ‘in years.’
“He’s got a nasty demeanor. He finishes with an edge. He’s probably the best run-blocking interior offensive lineman I’ve seen in years.”
Guards don’t usually go as high as tackles in the NFL draft, but with the changing landscape in the league, Mayock argued guards are becoming a higher priority to general managers.

With elite skills in both the run-blocking and pass-blocking, Nelson could potentially be the first offensive lineman taken in the 2018 NFL Draft. Mayock has Nelson ranked as his top interior linemen available in the draft.
Coincidentally, his college teammate, tackle Mike McGlinchey, is the top tackle available in the draft according to Mayock.
