There are no guarantees in the NFL Draft, but Saquon Barkley being worthy a top-five pick is pretty close.
NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock told reporters Monday that he would be “absolutely stunned” if Barkley was not among the first five players picked in April’s draft. Barkley is widely considered as the top running back in the class, and the former Penn State star is arguably the best overall player.
Mayock added, according to Audrey Snyder of DK Pittsburgh Sports, that Barkley will do so well at next month’s NFL Combine that it will be a “victory celebration.”
Mayock on Saquon Barkley: "I'd be absolutely stunned if this kid doesn't go in the top five." Adds that the combine should be a "victory celebration" for Barkley. "Really all it is is a confirmation of his physical gifts."

Barkley will likely be a star wherever he winds up. He has already signed an endorsement deal with Nike, and his first commercial with the brand is out. The 5-foot-11, 230-pound back racked up 3,843 rushing yards and 43 rushing touchdowns in his three-year career at Penn State.
Barkley was projected as the No. 2 overall pick to the New York Giants in Mel Kiper’s updated mock draft last week.
