New Arkansas coach Chad Morris offers Jerry Jones’ grandson a scholarship

Chad Morris was named Arkansas’ coach earlier this week. And he’s already out on the recruiting trail and he’s offered an interesting quarterback prospect a scholarship.

John Stephen Jones, the grandson of Dallas Cowboys owner and Arkansas alum Jerry Jones, tweeted that he had received a scholarship offer from Arkansas.

Jones is a 5-foot-10 quarterback and hails from Dallas, where he played at Highland Park High School. Former Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford also played at Highland Park High School.

Arkansas also has a commitment from 4-star quarterback Connor Noland in the 2018 class. Austin Allen is set to exhaust his eligibility with the Razorbacks, but Cole Kelley, who filled in when Allen was injured, is set to return next year.

Morris has been known for his strong offenses, as SMU finished 8th in scoring offense this year. The former SMU coach also recruited Deshaun Watson to Clemson when he was the Tigers offensive coordinator.
