Nebraska recruiting: Quarterback target Terry Wilson commits to Kentucky

Nebraska’s quarterback in the 2018 recruiting class will not be Terry Wilson, who committed to Kentucky on Sunday.

The hiring of Scott Frost and Wilson’s open recruitment led many to believe the junior college signal caller would wind up in Nebraska. Frost was the offensive coordinator at Oregon when Wilson flipped his commitment from the Huskers to the Ducks during his first recruitment process two years ago. Then, Wilson transferred to Garden City (Kan.) Community College for a season. With Frost now leading the Huskers, it seemed like a perfect fit for Wilson.

That was not the case. After reports earlier in the week stated Wilson canceled his official visit to Kentucky in favor of visiting Nebraska, it turned out he went to Kentucky after all. The visit resulted in a commitment.

Nebraska hosted 4-star quarterback Adrian Martinez for a visit over the weekend, as the Tennessee commit appears to be the top target for the Huskers now.

Wilson was the No. 2 JUCO dual-threat quarterback in this class, according to the 247Sports composite.
