Nebraska football is the No. 1 topic in Big Red Rising every day — but we cover news, notes and analysis from across Huskers sports. Join us each morning to get caught up on everything you missed in the world of Huskers football, recruiting, basketball and more.

Another commit

The good news just keeps on coming for Nebraska, as coach Scott Frost and his staff received their third commitment in two days, this one from 3-star wide receiver Justin McGriff. McGriff recapped his official visit to Nebraska last weekend with Land of 10’s Chris Bumbaca, which left the receiver more than impressed by the Huskers. Seems like it worked out as planned with a commitment following not long after.

Can’t say it rolls off the tongue quite like ‘Calibraska’ did, but it won’t matter if Frost has his way. He’s using his UCF ties to make Florida a pipeline of recruiting for the Huskers.

In-home visits

Nebraska’s staff is making the most of the time left before the recruiting dead period starts Dec. 18. That includes checking in on players like Lincoln native and Wisconsin defensive tackle commit Bryson Williams, as well as Huskers offensive line commit Will Farniok.

Not a running back

Nebraska commit Masry Mapieu is a defensive lineman. He was once a running back in middle school, but that quickly changed. He ended up as a cornerstone on York’s (Neb.) defense.

Visits, visits, visits

Let the recruiting visits continue!
