Nebraska-Creighton basketball: Time, TV channel, watch online (December 9, 2017)

Nebraska (7-3, 1-1 Big Ten) and Creighton (6-2, 0-0 Big East) basketball meet at CenturyLink Center on Saturday afternoon for an in-state rivalry matchup.

The Huskers and Bluejays will meet for the 51st time in series history. Separated by only 58 miles, the two have established the longest nonconference series on Nebraska basketball’s schedule.

Nebraska is currently on a six-game losing streak to Creighton and hasn’t won in Omaha since 2004. The last Huskers win over the Bluejays came during the 2010-11 season when Nebraska won 59-54.

Nebraska-Creighton basketball preview

Nebraska continues its difficult two-week stretch with a matchup at Creighton. The Huskers have already faced No. 3 Michigan State and No. 14 Minnesota, and will face No. 2 Kansas on Saturday, Dec. 16.

As for Creighton, the Bluejays comes into the matchup with a 6-2 record after defeating North Dakota 111-68 on Tuesday. Creighton features three players in double figures, led by Marcus Foster at 19.0 points per game. Foster boasts a 48 percent shooting percentage from the field and is 41 percent from beyond the arc. The Bluejays average 92.5 points per game and are shooting 52 percent from the field. Creighton is shooting 39 percent from 3-point range.

Creighton’s Khyri Thomas is second on the team in scoring at 16.8 points per game, including 46 percent from 3-point range. He averages 4.5 rebounds per game.

The Huskers come into the matchup after a big 78-68 upset win over No. 14 Minnesota on Tuesday. Glynn Watson Jr. boasted a season-high 29 points in the matchup and hit 9 of 17 shots from the floor and grabbed a career-high 9 rebounds.

Nebraska held the Golden Gophers to a season low in points and field-goal percentage (32.4). The Huskers are hoping to build off that success.

Adding to the rivalry, Creighton coach Greg McDermott and Nebraska coach Tim Miles are more than familiar with one another. The two met several times when coaching at the Division II level and have met six times while leading Division I programs. Aside from the five meetings between Nebraska and Creighton with both at the helm of their respective programs, the two met during the 2006-07 season when McDermott was at Iowa State and Miles was at North Dakota State.
