Mississippi State coach Joe Moorhead has hired former Louisiana-Lafayette coach Mark Hudspeth as the Bulldogs new associate head and tight ends coach, the school announced on Thursday.

Hudspeth, a native of Louisville, Miss., served as the wide receivers coach in Starkville from 2009-10 before accepting the head coaching position with the Warhawks. During his seven years in charge in Lafayette, the Ragin Cajuns went 28-38, with 22 wins between 2011-14 being vacated due to actions by an assistant coach.
