Michigan 2018 signees who will compete for awards

Land of 10’s Rachel Lenzi takes a look at Michigan’s 2018 signees to see which of them could win Big Ten Freshman of the Year, as well as future awards. Among Lenzi’s predictions is that 5-star signee Cameron McGrone will be a top contender, especially considering Michigan defensive coordinator Don Brown’s history of success with outside linebackers.

Mel Kiper calls 2018 Wolverines a top-6 team

ESPN’s Mel Kiper believes that if transfer quarterback Shea Patterson is eligible to play with the Wolverines in 2018, Michigan will be a top-6 team by the end of the season. During his radio show with SEC Network anchor Dari Nowkhah, Kiper said, “If Shea Patterson is under center, I think Michigan could catapult into the top 10. Maybe into the top six.”
