Michigan recruits give thumbs up to Jim McElwain

Members of Michigan’s 2018 recruiting class don’t know much about new Wolverines assistant Jim McElwain, but they’re excited to work with him. The former Florida coach is one of three new assistants on Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh’s staff, joining Al Washington (defense) and Sherrone Moore (tight ends).

Calvin Anderson is ‘raw, athletic talent’ who could answer Jim Harbaugh’s prayers

Michigan is one of the final 4 for Rice graduate transfer tackle Calvin Anderson, along with Oklahoma, Texas and Auburn. Anderson, a 6-foot-5 Texan with quick hands, has a dancer’s feet and a degree in mathematical economic analysis. The tackle wants to play at a blueblood in 2018 that’ll prepare him for the NFL.

Where the biggest publications rank the Wolverines in 2018

Many of the biggest sports publications have released their way-too-early top 25s for 2018 and, unsurprisingly, there’s a lot of disagreement about where the Wolverines should be ranked. Athlon has them at No. 7, while Sports Illustrated barely included them, with Michigan coming in at No. 23.
