Miami lands two recruits for 2019 class

Miami might have won the day before hitting the field to play Syracuse on Saturday. The Hurricanes received verbal commitments from Miami Norland High School defensive tackle Denzel Daxon and fullback Zac Smith for their 2019 recruiting class prior to game.

Daxon confirmed his commitment to InsideTheU and 247Sports writer Andrew Ivins prior to kickoff at the Hard Rock Stadium.

“It’s my dream school,” Daxon said, “I just want to be part of something big at The U. Coach Kool (Miami defensive line coach Craig Kuligowski) is Coach Kool. I really like him.”

Kuligowksi took a liking to Daxon following their meeting at the Georgia Tech game last weekend, and quickly made him his top target for the 2019 recruiting class.

Daxon received other early offers from Kentucky and Georgia Tech.
