Miami Hurricanes land commitment from local wide receiver

Marc Britt-Miami recruiting-Miami football

The Miami Hurricanes just earned some great recruiting news to kick off the weekend.

Hialeah Champagnat Catholic 2020 wide receiver Marc Britt verbally committed to Miami on Friday.

Britt chose Miami over offers from Purdue, Syracuse and Wake Forest.

The 6-foot, 160-pound Britt reeled in a 36-yard touchdown pass in Champagnat Catholic’s 2A state title win against University Christina on Friday.

“When I went there, I liked the receivers,” Britt told DieHards. “They’re aggressive and fast. They go for the ball.”

The sophomore was something of a fixture on the sidelines before Miami games this season, taking at least half a dozen unofficial visits to Hard Rock Stadium throughout the fall. He said he’s known he would commit for a little, he just wanted to wait until the high school season wrapped up.

“It’s the hometown,” Britt said. “It’s my dream school.”

Britt is the third 2020 commit for the Hurricanes, joining safety Avantae Williams and wide receiver Leonard Manuel. Miami currently possesses the No. 1 class in the 247Sports composite rankings.
