AJ McCarron reveals big goal as he joins Buffalo Bills

Former Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron’s future has come into focus, and he’s eager to prove doubters wrong.

On Thursday, McCarron spoke to reporters after he agreed to a two-year deal with the Buffalo Bills on Wednesday. During his news conference, the player addressed the possibility of Buffalo selecting a young quarterback in the upcoming NFL draft. Instead of allowing negative thoughts and labels to enter his mind, McCarron said, he offered that it’s possible to “change everybody’s thought process on you.” While in Buffalo, he’s hoping to “change anybody that has any doubt” about him.

Check out what McCarron had to say, as relayed by ESPN’s Mike Rodak:

Those are wise words from McCarron, who recently won his grievance against the Cincinnati Bengals, a development that allowed him to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason. He has 920 yards passing with 6 touchdowns in the NFL after beginning his career as a professional when the Bengals took him in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Certainly, McCarron doesn’t have control over what Bills officials choose to do in the upcoming NFL draft. But the former Crimson Tide star can make himself a valuable member of Buffalo’s roster by becoming a dependable, productive piece of the Bills’ offense. The better he plays, the stronger the possibility that he will stay in Buffalo for a long time.
