Massachusetts cornerback Mike Sainristil commits to Virginia Tech

Only a few days removed from signing their 2018 recruiting class, Justin Fuente and Virginia Tech has added a current high school junior to the fold.

Everett (Mass.) cornerback Mike Sainristil committed to the Hokies on Friday evening, becoming the fourth player in the 2019 class to pledge to the program. Sainristil announced the news on his Twitter account.

Sainristil is a member of the Everett team that won the state championship in 2017. He currently has 12 offers – Michigan, North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin among the most notable. The Hokies had been in constant contact with him after offering him in October, with assistant Galen Scott heading up to see him in Massachusetts.

Sainristil is the first defensive player to commit to the Hokies’ 2019 recruiting class thus far. He joins offensive lineman Jesse Hanson, athlete Jahad Carter and wide receiver Elijah Bowick as the program begins to look toward bringing a fresh batch of players in the fold.
