Mason Rudolph named nation’s 10th best player

Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph has been thrown around as a Heisman Trophy candidate.

He’s No. 16 in the nation in completion percentage, No. 19 in completions per game and second in total offense. In a conference with the brash and talented Baker Mayfield, the quieter Rudolph has more than held his own.

24/7 Sports named Rudolph the No. 10 player in the country on Friday. Rudolph grades out at a 99 rating on a 100-point scale. He’s the second-best quarterback on the list, trailing Mayfield.

Rudolph’s main target, James Washington, clocked in at No. 13 on the list.

The quarterback’s steady play and high-scoring feats have powered Oklahoma State to No. 10 in the country and a 5-1 record. If Rudolph continues to excel, he might find himself higher up on 24/7 Sports’ rankings by the end of the year — and the Cowboys might find themselves jetting up the AP Top 25.
