Duke has been without Marvin Bagley III in its last two games – against Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech – but have won both by double digits.
As the calendar progresses through the month of February and toward March, though, the team hopes that the freshman’s right knee sprain doesn’t keep him out of the lineup.
During his postgame press conference after Wednesday night’s win over the Hokies, coach Mike Krzyzewski expressed optimism that Bagley would be back soon. Exactly what “soon” means is still up in the air.

Coach K, on Marvin Bagley III’s injury: He’s getting better, but we have to be careful.

That certainly seems to be the best course of action for the Blue Devils at this point. Sure, the team is much better with him in the lineup, and it will be tough for them to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament without him. On the other side of the coin, rushing him back onto the court could mean further damage to his knee.
We’ll have to see what Bagley’s status is when Duke visits Clemson on Sunday afternoon. For now, though, the team will take a wait-and-see approach when it comes to its star forward.
