LSU will check on 4-star WR and recent Kansas de-commitment on Monday

Devonta Jason-LSU recruiting

Devonta Jason made the move to reopen his recruitment on Sunday, 10 days before he is set to put the pen to paper and sign his letter of intent.

Adding more intrigue, LSU wide receivers coach and New Orleans area recruiter Mickey Joseph will be at Landry-Walker (La.) High School on Monday morning to check in on the 4-star wide receiver, a source told SEC Country.

Jason, a one-time LSU commitment, will likely choose between the Tigers and SEC West rival Mississippi State on Dec. 20.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Jason remains a priority for LSU, which is in need of at least two more wide receivers in its 2018 recruiting class. The Tigers currently hold 20 verbal commitments, including 4-star receiver Kenan Jones and 3-star receiver Jaray Jenkins, both of whom are expected to sign during the early signing period later this month.

Jason has yet to officially visit LSU, but Joseph is still attempting to bring the 4-star wideout onto campus before the dead period kicks on Dec. 17. Ed Orgeron is planning to go in-home with Jason and his family before Dec. 20 as LSU makes one last push to keep the elite wide receiver in-state.

Stick with SEC Country for more updates on LSU’s continued pursuit of Jason.
