Jaren Handy‘s tenure as an LSU commitment did not last long.
Handy, who gave a verbal commitment to the Tigers last month during a junior day event on Feb. 27, reopened his recruitment on Thursday.
The 4-star defensive end from Mississippi was recruited by LSU defensive line coach Dennis Johnson, and because of him, indicated that the Tigers are still among his top teams.
After committing, Mississippi State and Ole Miss reached out to Handy about staying in-state.
Handy’s de-commitment drops the total number of 2019 LSU verbals to seven. Entering the day, the Tigers held the No. 3-ranked class in the country
