LSU football podcast: Why Les Miles will not coach again, but Bielema & Sumlin will

LSU football is the No. 1 topic of discussion every day on SEC Country’s  One Team, One Podcast. Host  Carter ‘The Power” Bryant has found one stat that says the chances of Les Miles coaching again are slim. Also, Bryant is joined by national college football and basketball columnist Aaron Torres to chat about why Miles has yet to find another coaching job, can he still coach and if Tiger fans should be sad Jimbo Fisher is at Texas A&M instead of LSU.

Les Miles’ age is working against him

Miles is one the most accomplished unemployed coaches in the history of college football. Nick Saban, Bear Bryant and Paul Neyland are the only SEC coaches (min. 140 games) to have better career winning percentages than The Mad Hatter.

Bryant goes into detail as to why he thinks Miles is not being pursued by open vacancies. The one trend he found was the age of coaching acquisitions has decreased over the past decade. Miles is currently 64, which is 19 years older than the new hire average in 2017.

Jimbo Fisher’s future at Texas A&M

Bryant is joined by college football contributor to The Athletic and national Fox Sports Radio host Aaron Torres, who says LSU fans should not be sad Fisher never made it to Baton Rouge. Torres points on the challenges ahead for Jimbo on the recruiting trail.

Also, Torres shares his thoughts as to why Miles remains unemployed in the coaching world.

Fact of the Day

Bryant unleashes vicious hot takes that burns holes into the Internet every day. This one fact proves why everyone’s takes are actually hotter than the boiling point of drinking water.
