The SEC has released the players of the week for the conference’s Week 8 action.
On Monday, LSU running back Derrius Guice was named offensive player of the week, after totaling 276 yards rushing and 1 touchdown in a victory against Ole Miss. Alabama defensive back Levi Wallace also had a strong performance for the Crimson Tide in Alabama’s rout of Tennessee, earning 6 tackles with 4 solo stops. Auburn defensive end Jeff Holland was honored after 1.5 quarterback sacks, 1.5 tackles for loss with two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and 3 tackles.
Rounding out the honorees were LSU kicker Connor Culp, Auburn defensive lineman Nick Coe, Missouri tight end Albert Okwuegbunam, Mississippi State offensive lineman Deion Calhoun and Mississippi State defensive end Montez Sweat.
