HOUSTON — LSU’s pursuit of Anthony Cook is going down to the wire.
The 5-star cornerback from Houston will receive a visit from LSU coach Ed Orgeron and defensive backs coach Corey Raymond on Monday, Cook informed SEC Country. The in-person visit will come exactly one week before Cook announces his college commitment.
Cook’s final official visit was to LSU last week as the Tigers stormed back to top Auburn. He previously made official stops at Ohio State and Texas. Cook will decide from LSU, Ohio State and Texas on Monday, Oct. 30.
During his official visit, Cook had dinner at Raymond’s house with his parents and has since been touch with the Tigers’ secondary coach and Orgeron. Ohio State sent coach Urban Meyer and defensive coordinator Greg Schiano to Lamar (Texas) High School on Monday in the aftermath of Cook’s official visit to Baton Rouge.
Leading into Monday, Cook has maintained that he is absolutely torn between the Tigers, Buckeyes and Longhorns. He conceded that Ohio State was his leader, but both Texas and LSU gained momentum after he trimmed his top schools down to those three.
SEC Country will touch on Cook’s upcoming decision in Monday’s recruiting notebook.
