Louisville will have to replace a lot on its defensive line next season. Thursday, the Cardinals added another piece that could help them do so.
Three-star defensive tackle Allen Love tweeted that he has committed to Louisville. Love, ranked the No. 54 defensive tackle in the 2018 class by 247sports, had committed to Ole Miss in June but withdrew that pledge on Monday. Love visited Louisville’s campus last weekend.

Love, from Huffman High School in Birmingham, Alabama, is listed at 6-foot-3, 285 pounds. He is the sixth new defensive lineman being brought in by Louisville for next season.
After this year, the Cardinals will lose current defensive stalwarts James Hearns, Trevon Young, De’Asian Richardson and Drew Bailey. According to the Louisville Courier-Journal, Love will join fellow three-star high school recruits Thurman Geathers, Dejmi Dumervil and Jarrett Jackson in the class of 2018. The Cardinals are also adding junior college transfers Michael Boykin and Jared Goldwire.
