Louisville will take on Florida State without one of its key defenders from last year.
Cornerback Jaire Alexander was hurt during practice leading up to the game this week and did not travel with the team, according to a tweet from Howie Lindsay. Alexander has been fighting a knee sprain that has limited him all season long, as he has played in just three games and recorded only 5 tackles thus far.
The Cardinals were looking for greater production from their junior after a terrific 2016 season. As a sophomore, Alexander recorded 36 tackles and made five interceptions, while being responsible for 9 pass deflections. He was also a factor in the punt return game, returning one for a touchdown against the Seminoles last year.
Louisville takes on Florida State at noon ET at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Fla.
