Hours after Louisville hired former Stanford, Nevada, LSU and TCU coach Trent Johnson to serve as an assistant to interim head coach David Padgett, the school announced that it has “parted ways” with former assistant Jordan Fair.
Fair and fellow assistant Kenny Johnson had been on paid administrative leave since Friday.
Fair is believed to be one of the assistant coaches described in the findings of an FBI investigation that alleged Louisville arranged for at least one recruit to receive payment in exchange for a commitment to the school.
Louisville spokesman Kenny Klein said the school is terminating Fair “without cause.” Klein said Fair will be paid for the following 30 days.
Johnson remains on administrative leave.
