Lamar Jackson’s quest for a repeat Heisman Trophy fell short on Saturday night from New York City.

However, Twitter showed plenty of love to the Cardinals quarterback for another awesome season.

Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield won the 2017 Heisman Trophy in a three-man field that also included Stanford’s Bryce Love and last season’s winner Jackson.

In the voting, Mayfield came out on top with 2,398 points, while Love finished second with 1,300 points and Jackson was third with 793 points.

This season as Louisville has posted an 8-4 record, Jackson has passed for 3,489 yards and 25 touchdowns while rushing for 1,443 yards and 17 touchdowns.

During his 2016 Heisman season in which Louisville went 9-4, Jackson passed for 3,543 yards and 30 touchdowns while rushing for 1,571 yards and 21 touchdowns.
