Texas Tech fans aren’t letting Oklahoma point guard Trae Young forget his past as the No. 23 Sooners roll into Lubbock for a date with the No. 7 Red Raiders.
A poster featuring a childhood photo of Young — wearing Texas Tech gear and giving the “guns up” sign — was spotted at United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock on Tuesday ahead of the top 25 Big 12 showdown.

If you forgot the backstory to the photo, it’s rather simple. Young’s father — Rayford Young — played basketball at Texas Tech.
Young was born in Lubbock, but later moved to Norman, Okla. He played at Norman North High School before staying local to play under Lon Kruger at Oklahoma.
Texas Tech has been ranked in the AP Top 10 for five weeks this season — setting a program record. It’s an entirely different story for Oklahoma, as the Sooners are looking to stop the bleeding after dropping six of their last eight contests. Oklahoma has fallen from as high as No. 4 in the AP Top 25 rankings last month.
And it appears that Young will have to look past a now-embarrassing childhood photo if the Sooners intend to get back in the win column in Lubbock.
