Neyland Stadium’s video board appears to have a new addition.
On Wednesday, FOX Sports Knoxville’s Caroline Schaefer published a photo of former Tennessee great Jason Witten featured on the video board. As you can see in the image below, Witten appears on the right side of the video board, which recently had a makeover with the removal of former Vols coach Butch Jones and the addition of former Tennessee linebacker Al Wilson.
Below is an image of how Jones looked on the video board:
Witten has 12,448 yards receiving with 68 touchdowns since the Dallas Cowboys took the tight end in the third round of the 2003 NFL Draft. He had 797 yards receiving and 7 touchdowns with the Vols from 2000-02. Former Vols great Reggie White had been featured on the video board.
Vols fans should enjoy this choice. It’s a wise move by Tennessee to feature proud faces of its past as it moves beyond the Jones era, which ended when the coach was fired in November.
Enjoy, Volunteers fans.
