It wasn’t easy, but Michigan basketball defeated Houston by the skin of its teeth on Saturday night thanks to a buzzer-beating 3-pointer by Michigan freshman guard Jordan Poole.

The shot sent Michigan to a 64-63 victory and to its second straight appearance in the Sweet 16, where it will play the winner of Texas A&M and North Carolina on Thursday. That wouldn’t be possible had it not been for a little March Madness magic.

Just in case you missed it, here’s another look at the shot:

There’s no doubt that Poole’s shot will go down as one of the most memorable moments in Michigan basketball history. While there were countless great reactions to the buzzer-beater, Michigan radio play-by-play announcer Matt Shepard may have had the best reaction of them all.

97.1 The Ticket’s Mike Ventimiglio shared Shepard’s call on Twitter. Take a listen here:

Shepard has had several great calls of Michigan basketball over the years, but the call of Poole’s buzzer-beater will go down as one of his best.
