Kirk Herbstreit on LSU: ‘I think Ole Miss gets them’ in Oxford

LSU has seemingly gotten its swagger back with back-to-back wins against Florida and Auburn, but ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit thinks the confidence gained from those wins will backfire.

Ed Orgeron, the former Rebels coach from 2005-07, makes his return to Oxford, where LSU has lost two straight.

Herbstreit thinks the 24th-ranked Bayou Bengals will drop a third straight in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Saturday night. Herbstreit points to the Shea Patterson-led Ole Miss offense with its plethora of weapons will make it happen.

“I’m one step ahead of LSU,” Herbstreit said. “I thought they could compete against Florida and Auburn, and I think now that everyone is doing this again (patting them on the back), I think they show up and they don’t respect Ole Miss, and I think Ole Miss gets them. I think the wide receivers and Shea Patterson have a big game. I think Ole Miss can beat them.”

Herbstreit isn’t the only one who thinks LSU will have a letdown at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

SEC Country’s Alex Martin Smith also picked the Rebels. Others such as SEC Network’s Chris Doering also predicted Ole Miss with a 34-31 win.
