Even when Tennessee gets into the end zone, things go poorly. Case in point: Kirk Herbstreit called out the program during its game against Alabama for a most unfortunate gesture after a touchdown.
Defensive back Rashaan Gaulden flipped off Alabama fans after teammate Daniel Bituli returned a pick-6 for the Volunteers’ first touchdown in 12 quarters.
Herbstreit pointed out that even when something positive happened, it ended up going poorly. He also took a jab at the program, using a biting hashtag.
Even when something goes good for Tennessee it goes bad! Pick 6 the good #7 flipping off the crowd in Tuscaloosa down 28-7 THE BAD. #Culture

The Volunteers could not score again in the game, falling to the Crimson Tide 45-7. And while it hasn’t been a great season for the Volunteers, Herbstreit is right in that players have to maintain their composure. It was not a good look for coach Butch Jones’ program.
